The AOAI is the African Artificial Intelligence Olympiad for high school students.
The AOAI is organized by the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI). The IOAI supports national AI Olympiads around the world and builds a network of organizations and individuals in the field of AI.
The 1st edition of AOAI
The 1st African Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (AOAI) 2026 will be held in Sousse, an iconic coastal city and one of Tunisia’s major academic and technological hubs. Known for its rich historical heritage, academic vibrancy, and openness to innovation, Sousse will provide an ideal setting to welcome young talents from across Africa to celebrate scientific and technological excellence.
Located at the heart of the Mediterranean and at the crossroads of African and international cultures, Tunisia plays a growing role in the development of digital innovation and artificial intelligence on the continent. By hosting AOAI 2026, the country reaffirms its commitment to supporting science education, international collaboration, and the emergence of a new generation of African leaders in the field of artificial intelligence.
